It appears Washington and Oregon are in a race to see who can pass the most restrictive gun control laws this year. 2,000 is by no means perfect, or even fully representative of Oregon gun owners, but it was a respectable turn-out.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Several bills moved out of committee to House or Senate Rules this week. HBs 1465 (pistol delivery), 1739 (undetectable\/untraceable firearms), 1786 (firearms\/protective orders) and SB 5508 (WSP CPL background checks).<\/p>\n<p>A few bills are still awaiting policy committee votes, before the end of business on 3 April. They are HB 1934 (military mail-in CPL renewal), SSB 5027 (extreme risk protection orders under 18), SB 5205 (firearms\/incompetence) and SB 5782 (assisted opening knives).<\/p>\n<p>Only one public hearing is scheduled for next week: HB 1225 (firearms\/domestic violence), in Senate Law &amp; Justice on committee cut-off day!<\/p>\n<p>The next cut-off facing us is the second chamber policy committee cut-off next Wednesday, April 3rd. All House bills must be out of Senate Law &amp; Justice and all Senate bills must be out of House Civil Rights &amp; Judiciary.
