NOT SO FAST<\/p>\n

SECOND SPECIAL SESSION CALLED<\/p>\n

I’m posting this a day early because I’ll be on the road all day Friday.\u00a0 I’ll be in Orlando for the quarterly board meeting of the Florida Sport Shooting Association on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Today, 28 May, is the 30th — and last — day of the special session.\u00a0 After a flurry of insignificant bill passage (from a budgetary perspective)\u00a0 on the first day of the session, all of the action has been at the committee level.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday the House passed the 2015-16 transportation budget.\u00a0 Today the Senate passed it.\u00a0 Nice try, guys, but the biennial operating budget is still hanging… \u00a0A dozen or so non-budget-related bills were passed today.<\/p>\n

Governor Inslee has called for a SECOND special session, to begin tomorrow, Friday morning.\u00a0 And he’s asking the budget conferees to meet in HIS office.<\/p>\n

Bottom line:\u00a0 no action on gun bills.<\/p>\n
