{"id":183,"date":"2013-06-19T16:56:12","date_gmt":"2013-06-19T16:56:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wagoal.org\/wordpress\/?p=183"},"modified":"2013-06-19T22:04:05","modified_gmt":"2013-06-19T22:04:05","slug":"i-591-and-i-594-a-note-from-the-proprietors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wagoal.org\/wordpress\/i-591-and-i-594-a-note-from-the-proprietors\/","title":{"rendered":"I-591 and I-594 &#8211; A note from the proprietors&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This morning Seattle <a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/gun-rights-in-seattle\/dave-workman\">Gun Rights Examiner Dave Workman<\/a> wrote of the newly announced pro-rights Initiative 591 and the recently formed and growing coalition of firearms rights organizations emerging in Washington, Protect Our Gun Rights (POGR).<\/p>\n<p>Founded at an emergency meeting of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonarmscollectors.org\" target=\"_blank\">Washington Arms Collectors Board of Directors<\/a>, POGR counts as member organizations WAC, the <a href=\"http:\/\/wagoal.org\" target=\"_blank\">Gun Owners Action League of Washington<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/ccrkba.org\" target=\"_blank\">the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms<\/a>. CCRKBA and WAC have each committed a minimum of two hundred thousand dollars to the cause, with GOAL expected to join the effort in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>POGR is reaching out to individuals and organizations around the state and expects to grow swiftly in response to both the threat to civil rights presented by <a href=\"http:\/\/sos.wa.gov\/_assets\/elections\/initiatives\/FinalText_483.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">I-594<\/a> and in support of protections afforded civil rights by <a href=\"http:\/\/sos.wa.gov\/_assets\/elections\/initiatives\/FinalText_471.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">I-591<\/a>. Contact information will be updated ASAP.<\/p>\n<p>In a momentary aside, WAC Webmaster Ray Carter observed &#8220;POGR was formed and continues to grow in response to\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/sos.wa.gov\/_assets\/elections\/initiatives\/FinalText_483.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">I-594<\/a>,\u00a0 sponsored by a clique of Seattle anti-gun elitists, and will oppose that initiative.
